Mobil SHC Gear 680 is a premium performance ISO Viscosity Grade (VG) 460 synthetic extreme pressure (EP) gear oil. It is designed to provide outstanding gear and bearing protection even under extreme conditions. Mobil SHC Gear 680 is scientifically engineered from synthetic base fluids that have exceptional oxidation and thermal properties and excellent low temperature fluidity. Mobil SHC Gear 460 exhibits outstanding compatibility with elastomers in static seal tests. It has outstanding EP properties. Mobil SHC Gear 460 is recommended for enclosed industrial gear drives where ISO VG 680 oils are recommended. It is especially recommended for applications that may be subject to micropitting: especially heavily loaded gearboxes with surface-hardened tooth metallurgies.
